Pinellas Pain and Palliative Care is a teaching facility, providing the most up to date treatments and modalities for treating complex pain problems.
Dr. Williams and her partners have decades of experience in treating chronic nonmalignant and malignant pain. Dr Williams is also Board Certified in addiction medicine and trained in Palliative Care, which allows her to thoroughly manage patients with psychological as well as medical problems. Another provider is Medical Director of a local Hospice Facility as well as Adjunct Faculty at USF, teaching students and residents regularly.
At Pinellas Pain and Palliative Care, our experienced providers treat pain related to multiple diseases, including but not limited to: neck pain, back pain, joint pain, degenerative disc disease, rheumatoid arthritis, Facet syndrome, sciatica, spinal stenosis, failed back syndrome, fibromyalgia and neuropathy. We also treat cancer pain and neuropathic pain, related to chemotherapy, radiation or surgery.
Our providers coordinate care with primary care physicians, physical and occupational therapists, orthopedic surgeons, oncologists, and other specialists to provide a comprehensive pain management plan for patients. Patients will also learn about the causes of their pain and will be treated with appropriate medications and alternative ways to alleviate pain and improve mobility and quality of life.
The initial visit with the doctor will include a thorough evaluation, and a review of medical records, previous medications, surgical history and an extensive physical examination. Recommendations will be made for a comprehensive and individualized care plan. This may include physical and occupational therapy, biofeedback, chiropractic care, massage therapy, and other alternative treatments to aid in your medical management of pain and rehabilitation.
We are also offering various injections by our experienced providers, including steroid injections, intra-articular injections, trigger point injections with Marcaine and Kenolog, and more.
We offer medical students the ability to rotate in our facility and to learn important skills in pain and palliative treatment as well.
